Content
Rolling bearings are low-friction machine components and thus contribute to the energy efficiency of machines. Nevertheless, a certain amount of residual friction is unavoidable. This is converted into heat and may have to be transported out of the rolling bearing.
How and where does this friction arise, how can I avoid it and what options do I have for heat transport, will be explained.
In this module you will get to know the heat sources and their determination in the rolling bearing as well as the heat dissipation options.
Learning objectives
- Drilling and sliding friction in the rolling bearing
- Frictional moments
- Heat flows and heat dissipation
- Example - From heat generation to heat dissipation
